Kent Monkman and Amy Scott discuss the artist’s practice and how this artwork challenges our understanding of the land and the nations that have been built upon it. 

This conversation was held within the setting of “Ever-Changing Nations”, an exhibit at Trotta-Bono Contemporary that coincided during Frieze LA. Through the lens of some of the leading Indigenous artists today, the show presents a compelling reconsideration of the dominant historical narratives of the nation in light of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
